Stumps
Stump Removal in Portsmouth, VA
Planning a patio, driveway, addition or pool? We remove stumps and major roots so the ground is ready.

Overview
How we handle stump removal
For most yards, grinding is all you need. But if you are pouring concrete, building an addition or digging a pool, a ground-down stump can leave roots in the way. Full stump removal digs out or grinds the root ball deeper so the area is ready for construction.
We will help you decide which option fits your project, since full removal is more work and leaves a larger hole to backfill.
Serving Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Newport News, Smithfield, Williamsburg, Yorktown and Poquoson.

Grinding or removal: which do I need?
If you are planting grass or a garden, grinding. If you are building or pouring concrete, ask your contractor how deep it needs to be clear, and we will match that.
Will removal leave a big hole?
Yes, larger than grinding. We discuss backfill before the job so you are not surprised.
Are your estimates really free?
Yes. No charge and no pressure to book. You get a straight answer and a firm price.
Do you clean up and haul everything away?
Yes. Cleanup is part of the job: brush chipped, wood hauled and hard surfaces blown off. If you want firewood or wood chips left behind, just ask.
