Trimming & Tree Care
Tree Pruning in Portsmouth, VA
Pruning is the careful side of trimming: selective cuts made for the tree's long-term health and structure.

Overview
How we handle tree pruning
Pruning focuses on why each branch is cut. We remove crossing and rubbing branches, weak V-shaped forks and dead or diseased wood, and we shape young trees so they grow into strong ones. Each cut is made just outside the branch collar so the tree can seal it properly.
A well-pruned tree handles storms better, lives longer and needs less work later. Young and ornamental trees benefit most, but mature trees gain a lot from corrective pruning too.
Serving Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Newport News, Smithfield, Williamsburg, Yorktown and Poquoson.

More in Trimming & Tree Care
What is the difference between pruning and trimming?
Trimming usually means cutting for clearance or looks. Pruning is more selective and focuses on the tree's health and structure. Most visits include a bit of both.
Do you top trees?
No. Topping weakens trees and causes fast, poorly attached regrowth. If a tree is too big for its space, we will talk through better options, including removal.
Are your estimates really free?
Yes. No charge and no pressure to book. You get a straight answer and a firm price.
Do you clean up and haul everything away?
Yes. Cleanup is part of the job: brush chipped, wood hauled and hard surfaces blown off. If you want firewood or wood chips left behind, just ask.
